At the top of this article is another embroidery of my own design. The photos at the bottom are from parts 1 - 5 of 'My Embroidery'. I went retro for a while and designed a few 1950's-ish pieces. I really enjoyed stitching this piece as anything goes in retro stuff... unless you were there the fi... Read more

Today I want to share the piece of work in the photo at the top of this post. The photos at the bottom are from parts 1 - 4 of My Embroidery. I made the piece for someone as a present. She told me what she wanted and I tried to stitch it for her. I am not proud of the result but it is important t... Read more

The recent election in UK made got me thinking about why I vote. Obviously, it depends on what the vote is about but here I'm talking politics. Do I vote for policies I think will best for my country or is it much more personal than that? Until the last election it was definitely policies that... Read more

ze2000 Nice topic. I was thinking recently on how to decide what to vote. It's not that easy because there's no manual to it. You have many ways of deciding your vote but there are two main ways: You vote the best for you or you vote the best for the country. It's not always the best for both, so you need to make a choice.

Regarding your question I think it's a social responsibility, but also a choice.

LiaF7 Looking at it by your photo it looks perfect and very nice. But of course looking at it with a closeup eye it must have another view. The more we know about something, the more we seek perfection and see our faults.

29th May 2017 - Will Rafa Nadal win his 10th French Open? The first opponent to stand in his way is France's Benoit Paire. Although that's not a name that immediately springs to mind when thinking of tennis, Benoit had a recent win over Stan Wawrinka that makes this an interesting match with Nada... Read more

What is Loneliness? This article discusses how loneliness can have a negative impact on your life. The Oxford English Dictionary says, 'loneliness' or 'being lonely', is "sadness because one has no friends or company". Just before Easter I finished my art course so now I must set myself up to paint on my own. Resources, resources, that's what I need. I want to start by painting some landscapes using acrylics. I did quite well at that when I was on my art course. I checked my paints: only two colours needed, ... Read more
