Acacia of Constantinople

.
Albizia julibrissin belongs to the family of Mimosaceae and its genus Albizia includes more than 100 species.
It receives many vulgar names: Acacia of Constantinople, Albizia, Silk Tree, Parasol of China, Tree of Constantinople, Chinese Acacia, Silk Tree, Persian Acacia, Persian Acacia or Acacia taperera.
There is an ornamental variety called Albizia "Summer Chocolate", with chocolate-colored leaves.
They are fast-growing trees similar to acacias and umbrella shaped cup.
The leaves are bright green and are formed by small leaves oblique, deciduous and alternate.
The showy flowers lack petals but have many white and pink stamens.
They flower during summer and autumn. They are used as isolated specimens or to create groups and make shaded areas. The Acacia of Constantinople can thrive in an exhibition in full sun or semi-shade.
They are not demanding with the ground and they are enough with a normal one of garden, yes, well drained.
The plantation should be carried out in the spring or autumn. Irrigation will be moderate (one per week), increasing a little in summer (2 per week).
At the time of planting you will need more water than normal.
Although it does not need pruning we can trim it to control its growth and shape it; this should be done just before flowering. Fertilize annually with manure and once a month with mineral fertilizer during the flowering period.
They are not usually attacked by garden pests but we must monitor the excess of irrigation.
They can be multiplied from seeds sown in spring, by cuttings in spring or summer and by layering in early summer.
