Let kids be kids and use their imagination, when they play!

.
This article from the newspaper that I have included at the end of my article reminds me of a few months ago when I was traveling on a train, a lady boarded the train with a baby who looked just under 2 years old in a pram (I am assuming the lady was the mother or babysitter), put the brakes on the pram and she sat down on a seat beside the babys pram. the child was ever so quite, I thought maybe baby was a sleep so I looked up towards the pram and saw the child was holding an iPad and was watching something on it. The lady started to ramage around in her rucksack and eventually pulled out another iPad and started to play candycrush or that sort of natured game. for the rest of the journey she did nt interact with the child at all and just sat their like strangers. Everyone is free to bring up their child how they feel is best, but do they not remember how fun it was for them when they was child and they had an adult pointing out trees, sky, birds ect.. out to them and let them use their imaginations?

These days its so easy to just give a child a phone, computer game or iPad to keep them occupied in/outdoors. To be fair some parents do balance it and limit the amount of hours the child gets to spend on them but others just leave them to it. I know we have to move on with the times and everything is becoming digital but kids can still play with sticks, stones and dirt like we used to.

whats your opinion?

GregSee1 This is something that I've seen a lot of people do over the past few years. It's exactly as you say, it's easier to just give a kid an IPad or phone or something to keep them occupied. Generally speaking most parents put a limit on how much time is spent on whatever tech the kid's playing with but more often than not it's just a case of: "Here, go play Bejeweled and keep quiet while I go and nap." which is disturbing to say the least.
