Strudel with poppy seeds
150 g. butter or margarine
2 dcl. milk
2 teaspoons of sugar
1 egg
500 g. flour
1 bag of dry yeast, 10 g.
250 g. poppy
150 ml. milk
1 cup of sugar
2 vanilla sugar
Prepare a poppy first. Sugar, vanilla sugar and milk are boiled and poured over the ground poppy. Allow it to cool and to absorb liquid.
I do not have anywhere to buy fresh yeast and I always use dry. I do not put it directly into the dough, but rather I put it into milk and leave it to rise.
So, in 2 dcl. lukewarm milk put a spoon of sugar and dry yeast, stir and leave for about ten minutes to grow. Flour,eggs, butter, 2 teaspoons of sugar and milk with yeast, mix the mixer in a smooth dough.
Divide it into two parts and immediately develop jufke, at 2, 3 mm. thickness and about 30 cm. length. My closet is 32 cm long. Coat with a poppy, wrap, top up with a dried egg and burn it immediately.
Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes.
