Enchanted forest, Galicia

.
In Aldán there exists a memoriable pazo known as Casa Torre de Aldán, which is owned by the Counts of Canalejas.
This pazo had a huge estate that was used for relatives and friends of these for hunting and other recreational activities. When building the PO-315 road, the farm was divided and a few years ago it was donated to Cangas concello, who has tried, not very fortunately, to leave it to the enjoyment of the citizens.
At the moment the farm is in a dilapidated and abandoned and even a little afraid to enter.

The land is located at km 109 of the aforementioned road just opposite the pazo.
An easy way to enter is to look for the Orxas River, where next to the road there is an old medieval bridge next to a rustic laundry.
If we ascend this road there is an entrance about 50 m.

There are no signs, there is no information, just an abandoned door with an unfortunate wall that gives the feeling of an abandoned farm trip.
When entering the land, we will take a path surrounded by a thick and beautiful vegetation, although the silvas form a large part of the path on both sides, giving a sense of dirt.
The Orxas river runs parallel to the road and soon we can see an old mill on its shore.
At about two hundred meters we will see a small tower belonging to a small and "modern" castle, which only consists of the facade and some dependence that is below the unevenness of land that is on the back.
It was built in the 60s and never finished. It also has a small moat with drawbridge located on the front. It is worth noting in 2011 its state of abandonment both inside and outside.

A few meters further on stands a beautiful old masonry aqueduct, known as Arco dos Mouros or Arco da Condesa.
The forest has a series of stone benches that some of them were made with a Suevo sarcophagus, which was split in half.
Next we can see the remains of the so-called Historical Gardens built for the delight of the family.
Oaks, chestnuts, laurels, birches and some exotic species introduced by the counts are located in this enchanted land.

It is worth taking a walk through this leafy forest, admiring every corner and realizing how the farm could have been 50 years ago.

Upstream we can contemplate a series of partly reconstructed watermills that form a beautiful route.
