Physicist John Hopkins says that the human mind enables us to create our own concept of reality. Therefore, our notion of the physical universe is (dependant) on our mind. Moreover, the universe is entirely mental. After studying philosophy I took this to completely contrast to materialism which holds that reality lies within physical things rather than our mind. For instance, a materialist would hold that: when we die this is the end to human bodily functions and the physical body decays, it refutes the concept of an afterlife.
