Devetashka Cave /Bulgaria/

Devetashka Cave is a beautiful and remarkable place that everyone should visit. Its proximity to Sofia is a place of great interest in the cave. The unique location of the cave, close to the Osam River, to wild forests and the fertile soil around it, predetermines the cave as a wonderful place to live centuries ago. Besides the valuable archaeological excavations, today it is famous for the variety of protected species that they use it for a home. More than 45 species of animals live in the cave, including 12 species of protected amphibians, 9 bat species, which are the most interesting of all. There are also 82 species of birds that can be seen in the area, of which 12 are included in the Red Book, and 34 mammals, 4 of which are also in the Red Book, also inhabit the cave and its area. The Devetashka of the three most important bat species for hibernating in Europe. A colony of over 35,000 copies is wintering there. In the cave near the village of Devetaki a few years ago, the famous Hollywood production - "The Invincible 2" - was filmed with a whole host of action-packed stars. For the purpose of the film, the team is building a real bridge over the Osam River, which remains as a gift to the locals.
