The Healthiest Vegetables

.
To be considered "powerful" foods, these vegetables must have a base of 17 important nutrients for public health, determined by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the Institute of Medicine of the United States. (potassium, fiber, protein, calcium, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, folic acid, zinc, and vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E, and K). The most nutritious of all was scored 100 and ordered down according to the composition of each of the vegetables.

According to the studies, the ranking places the green leafy vegetables on top, heading the cress. The most common vegetables such as tomatoes, squash or carrots, as well as fruits (strawberries, oranges, blackberries) are much less nutritious than radishes, parsley or Swiss chard.
