The Good or Bad of Telling a Lie
I have just come across with a post which points out the common way of telling a lie. And I do agree with it subjectively. I am referring to the statement - "I am fine."
When your friend or any member of your family will ask you how are you? Without a second thought, you immediately replied, "I am fine." Don't you? But in reality, you're not. Why?
Are you afraid to him or her about your real situaion. That's why you keep on hidding it. Ot may or it may not be reasonable or justifiable.
Well telling a lie is one of the many forms or actuations of being dishonest and fooling yourself emotionally. It could also be a self defense of incriminating yourself from your vices or sinful attitude.
That kind of attitude is defensive. You're getting yourself away from possible help which you badly needed for you're afraid to tell the truth. Actually you know the very reason why you're doing that. Others are doing that for they're lazy to elaborate it. They want to avoid more conversations. That's why they answer that way.
I don't know they're doing that for a defense or to protect themselves of the threatening consequences. And they're absolutely right. I am referring it to the so-called white lies.
In the Bible, Abram told a white lie that Sarai his wife, a beautiful one isn't his wife before the Egyptian' soldiers. Thus, if he didn't disown his wife, he would be killed by those Egyptians.
In fact, Abram had earlier told Sarai about it. That's the good effect of telling a white lie. However, telling a lie is always a lie and it is a sin.
What is your stand about it?
