Chicory

A Romanian legend says the chicory was a beautiful girl. She washed her face with dew on a daily basis before the sun appeared. She did not want to be seen, but one morning the sun saw her and fell in love with her! He sent a morning star to ask her to be the sun wife . She refused because she did not want a husband wich travels all day! Upset, the sun turned her into a chicory flower.
Since then it is said that the chicory is always watching the sun until late autumn, and its flowers are gathered in the evening, at sunset, and break out in the morning, at sunrise.
