Lilac-Jorgovan
.
Lilac is traditionally grown in gardens and parks as an ornamental shrub, with ecologically fragrant flowers. It belongs to the family of olives. There are more hybrids and cultivars of this plant. It is planted individually or by multiple specimens in groups, as well as with other decorative shrubs. It likes sunbathing or semi-leveled positions and a nutritious, well-permeable soil of slightly alkaline environment. The most famous species of lilac that is grown in our country is Syringa vulgaris and it can grow 4-7 m. The leaves are dark green, oval or hearty. Bloom from April to May. Lilac blooms on the old tree and gives more flowers if it does not nibble.
Unroasted lilacs usually flourish every year. If they need pruning, it is best done after flowering, before the flower buds are formed for the next year. Blossomed flowers should be regularly removed to prevent the production of seeds. Lilac is a resistant plant that requires little care. It can also be used for a live fence. It is planted in the spring or autumn at a distance of 1.5-4.5 m depending on the species. Late frosts in the spring can destroy flower buds, therefore it is better to plant it at lower altitudes, in a moderate climatic zone.
