Geese in formation

When I was walking my dog this morning walking my wife to the bus stop overhead we heard honking. As we looked up we espied formations of geese flying in a classic V formation and the honking presumably was to keep each bird together in that formation.
It's amazing how each bird maintains this formation and never at once do you see a bird out of sync with this shape. As my wife caught her bus and was gone my dog and I carried on walking to behold more V formations.
Presumably, these birds are Canada Geese and you only really see them flying like this in Autumn. Whether they are migrating to warmer climes I could not say for sure. However, there are wetlands not far from where I live called Marton Mere so presumably the geese were heading there.
The time was approximately about 8.30 am UK time and as I walked with my dog more and more formations of Canada Geese appeared all flying to the same location.
When most people around me were only bothered about getting to work or looking into their phones I alone was watching these geese. It just shows how far people have become disconnected from the natural world. But I felt greatly awed when observing these magnificent birds.
