What Does it Take to be a Responsible Pet Owner?

.
Time and money!

I'm not saying poor people can't be responsible pet owners as they do love their pets too as much as the rich or even so much more.

So why time? Adopting a pet into your home means you must have the time to take care of them, feed them, give them the proper amount of exercise, and most of all train them! Training your pets takes a lot of patience and dedication and of course sooo much of your time. So if you don't have the time to do this, then maybe you shouldn't adopt a pet.

Money. To ensure your pet's health you need to give them quality food and quality food can be way more expensive than commercial food. Another is the obvious reason: you must have money for the Vet. They need their immunisation, regular check ups, and of course you need money for when they get sick.

I know a lot of people are claiming to be animal lovers but the moment they get tired of their pets, they usually return their pets to the shelter, which is very sad for the animal. And it's not the animals fault, but the pet owner.

So it takes more than love to be a responsible pet owner.

frenchqueen That is so true. And it's really sad that in my country a lot of people want to hae pets but only to show off that they have pets but really, they don't sincerely care for them. It makes me sad. @Deliana ☹️

indexer Plenty of patience is also useful - especially if you have a young puppy who needs to be weaned off chewing the furniture, important mail items , etc, etc!

cathydkreations Very good article and you are so very correct it takes more than love to be a responsible pet owner. Just I have insurance so does Cash have a wellness plan for all of his health care needs. There are many people that love there pets but not responsible pet owners ❤?

frenchqueen We don’t have a wellness plan here for animals. People here are not that responsible. Unfortunately. They see their pets are just mere animals who have inferior rights as them. It makes me sad. @cathydkreations

Shavkat I do think that key factor is to be a responsible owner. It is the basic quality that the owner should possess.

cathydkreations @frenchqueen oh no that's so sad Cash got sick a few years ago and,I bought the wellness plan for him. When I took him to the vet a few weeks ago his bill would have been over $600 + dollars but because of the plan I paid $0 thank God for that wellness plan. ❤?
