Beware of 'Phishing' emails
Phishing is the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and, indirectly, money), often for malicious reasons, by disguising as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
Beware of "phishing emails" or websites with "spoof URLs". A lot of you may have come across emails like "you've won a £500 giftcard from ASDA or Tesco". This is a scam, a lot of fraudulent people try to acquire your personal information in an effort to use it against you later on. They could want personal details such as passwords or your credit card details.
Phishing is typically carried out by email spoofing or instant messaging, and it often directs users to enter personal information at a fake website, the look and feel of which are almost identical to the legitimate one.
A Spoof URL is when a website poses as another website in order to retrieve your login information or any of your personal information. Beware. If a URL looks unusual then it is probably bogus. Also it the website is poorly represented it is likely a website that is trying to impersonate another, it could be a website attempting to "phish" for your information. It could be at an innocent click of a weblink in your email or entering your details in a website, that can be all it takes to expose your computer to bugs, malware these can be dangerous for your computer.
If you come across an email that seems to good to be true, then it probably is. Please take care when you are receiving emails or when purchasing goods online etc. If you are not sure about a particular email or website, check reviews on Google or look up a particular offer. Google will help to reveal if that offer is likely to be fraudulent.
In my case, they told me that you can use it a few times per day but no more than £30/purchase. I noticed because they used it on restaurants, co-op etc all over London, specially on shops I never went.. and because I'm always checking my account to see if everything is ok.. they still manage to spend £350 and the bank didn't refund me... I was furious
