Why in Spain the Carousel is called Tiovivo?

.
The excrement and waste that piled up the streets of my natal city, Madrid, in the summer of 1834, gave rise to an outbreak of anger that spread through half of Spain.

Esteban Fernández, better known as Uncle Esteban (Tío Esteban in Spanish) , was a madrilean who made his living with a children's carousel with four toy horses on Paseo de las Delicias street.

Suddenly, Uncle Esteban fell ill as a result of the epidemic and died.
His death caused much pain to the neighbors of the neighborhood, especially to the children who entertained themselves in their "attraction" day after day.

Legend has it that Tío Esteban's family and friends placed him in an open casket and took him to the cemetery in a funeral procession passing in front of his business. At the moment they were in front of their "caballitos" carousel, a voice was heard coming from inside the coffin. «I'm alive! I'm alive!».
It was Esteban Fernández who had miraculously "returned to the world".

Uncle Esteban recovered after returning to work. His fame spread like wildfire. There were even those who traveled to the place simply to see that he was really alive. "El tío vivo" (The uncle alive) became a celebrity and although Esteban at first did not like the way they referred to him, in the end he accepted and was left with the nickname.

His attraction happened to be called "the caballitos" to "the horses of the Tío Vivo" to, finally, " tiovivo" (Uncle Alive).
Supposedly it is from this story that the word "merry-go-round" comes from, which is so widespread in our country.
