Is politics important for ordinary people?

I would love to talk about politics a bit. I really want to know what people here think about politics.
First, I would love to know what do you think about importance of politics. Is it important for ordinary people, are you interested in it, and are people in your country interested in it?
Should ordinary people participate in politics, and how important it is for them?
