A Stolen Shot

.
With the advancement of technology, almost everybody owns a phone with a camera and it's easy to take a snap shot of anybody without their knowledge. Is it wrong to do so without their permission?

Several years ago, somebody took a photo of me and I wasn't aware of it at all until he sent me a copy of that photo. Did I get mad? Not at all. In fact I complimented him for making it look so artistic, for me at least.

But these days, people are taking advantage of everything. They take pictures of people in their most compromising situation and spread it in social media sites. I consider it rude and it shouldn't be done at all. But how can we protect ourselves from this? Unfortunately, the moment we step out of our house, we lost our privacy .

This is what technology has done to us.

frenchqueen I think it's beyond the issue of being conservative, but it's more of privacy. You can't say you don't want your picture taken when it's stolen in the first place. @Explorer2017

Explorer2017 @frenchqueen Is it privacy when you are in public and your picture is taken?

frenchqueen When somebody takes your picture? Actually it is. Because your right ends where my nose starts and my body is my property. However, this is gravely abused but in some countries you can sue someone for taking your picture without your knowledge. @Explorer2017

sabtraversa Stolen photos are often beautiful, but of course, they must always be shown to the subject and ask for permission before publishing. 🙂 The latest generations will never know the meaning of privacy. Well, they post compromising photos themselves, they only care if people start bullying perhaps. I’m quite reserved but I don’t really believe in privacy, I’ve almost become paranoiac, actually. 😅

Frenki Some photographers take photos like that, but usually its from behind, or you cant see face or something like that, but atleast you know why they took it. What scares me when random people do it for who know what reason. One time in bus there was guy who was going throught people and taking photos of girls. He tryed to hide it, but at end i was sure he is doing that, it was too obvious. So creepy

cathydkreations Very good article with the say and times we live in as stated when we step out of our homes nothing is really private because we are in public. It is very rude to publish someone's pic without asking especially if you are posting them on social media. My Mom has told us to keep here off of FB 😉

fortune We have a law forbiding to publish anyones photo without his permision. But there is nothing said we cannot shoot anyone and keep this photo not published. I never do it anyway. I think we should respect others privacy.

frenchqueen It's always polite to ask someone if we could take their photos. I was sunbathing once in this beautiful beach and there were at least a number of people who took my photo but they say thank you after wards. @fortune
