Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato 2016
.
In May 2016 Aston Martin revealed this beauty at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este at Lake Como, Italy. The Vanquish Zagato will have a limited production of 99 cars and will be built in the Aston Martin's production facility in Gaydon, England.
It's not the first time we see a collaboration between Aston Martin and Zagato but in my opinion we are in front of the best looking cards of the decade, probably the last 25 years. In the past Zagato designed for Aston Martin the, DB4 GT Zagato, the V8 Vantage Zagato, 2002 DB7 Vantage Zagato and the V12 Vantage Zagato revealed in 2011.
The Vanquish Zagato is a powerful but refined GT. It's powered by Aston Martin's 6.0L V12 powertrain in a FR configuration but in has been tuned for the occasion to deliver 592hp completing the 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds.
The Vanquish Zagato is entirely shaped from carbon-fibre. The tail light reflectors evoke the classic Zagato rear view, using the bladed LED technology seen in the Aston Martin Vulcan. The wing mirrors have been inspired by those in the One-77.
As usual in Zagato designs the roof features a double buble shape. This is one of Zagato's trademark since the 50s.
The inside of the Vanquish Zagato features the excellent Aston Martin craftsmanship. Details in carbon fibre, anodized bronze and leather make a perfect interior for an astonishing car. Yes, that pun was intented.
