On this date in 2005 The Colbert Report aired on US TV. It lasted to December 18, 2014 and all 1447 episodes were hosted by Stephen Colbert, a today's host of Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert. This show was a spin off of Daily Show, where Colbert worked as a correspondent.
However, in this show, he played a fictional anchorman, by his real name and who was focused on politics and political satire. Pretty much, I would say, this is his preparation to a show that he's doing these days.
Besides being a journalist, tv host, producer, comedian, he is actor as well. Among his parts, he had a cameo in Hobbit and Bewitched (a new version).
