The SmartWatches are Gaining Popularity
.
Sales of accessories will grow worldwide by an average of 20 percent each year over the next five years. By 2022, 243 million units worth 29 billion dollars will be sold on the market. These data are cited by industry analyst CCS Insight, who also notes that growth will occur thanks to smart watches, and fitness trackers began to lose their positions in 2017.
The CCS report states that 71 million smart watches will be sold in 2018, doubling to 140 million in 2022. But sales of fitness trackers fell by 18% in 2017 - to 40 million units. This is 23 percent lower than the peak in 2016, and now only two companies, which account for 80 percent of the entire market.
The two companies are Fitbit and Huami (a subsidiary of Xiaomi), which dominates the Western world and occupies the Chinese market. In the other hand, another company Seiko covers Pakistan Market. Seiko Watches Pakistan http://www.rafiqsonsonline.com/product-category/seiko/
Returning to the smart watch, Apple Watch is a leader, and this is not surprising. CCS says tech giant Cupertino moved 16 million devices from the ever-expanding range of watches in 2017, a 60 percent increase over 2016.
“Apple has become the market leader in smart watches,” said George Gigiashvili, senior accessories analyst at CCS Insight. “Sales volumes exceeded expectations, and the introduction of a model supported by a mobile phone pushed the growth in sales costs, which are estimated at $ 5 billion in 2017.”
An interesting moment from the latest forecast of CCS Insight is the huge sales of children's-connected children's watches on the phone in the Chinese market, where an estimated 25 million were sold in 2017.
However, CCS does not expect this trend to spread throughout the world. “Although in 2017 we recorded sales of about 1 million units in the United States, we do not expect such volumes as we have seen in China,” said Jidzhiashvili. “In Europe, privacy and regulatory issues have reduced the market to several thousand units.”
The biggest loser in the report is Google and its Android Wear platform. According to CCS estimates, less than 5 million units were sold in 2017, and it is estimated that less than 6 million units will be sold in 2018.
Jijiashvili said: “ Google paid a high price for the recent lack of commitment to Android Wear. Attention seems to have shifted to their pixel smartphones and Google Home products at the expense of smart watches. To remain competitive and to support the growing number of companies making smart watches, such as Fossil, Guess, Movado and TAG Heuer, a significant Android Wear update is needed in 2018.
