Portugal
.
Hi everyone...
Just a little bit of history about my country. Hope you like it... I never wrote an article... so I'll see if it's something you're interested in or not...
The history of Portugal dates back to the Early Middle Ages. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Portugal had the status of a world power during Europe's "Age of Discovery" as it built up a vast empire, including possessions in South America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Over the next two centuries, Portugal kept most of it's colonies, but gradually lost much of it to the Dutch, English, and French.
Because I studied in France, I didn't learn a lot about Portugal so sometimes I'm just curious about my country and read some articles or books about it.. so many things that a little country did in the past.. so powerful... did you know( I didn't, or just don't remember??) that during the 15th and 16th centuries, Portugal became a leading European power that ranked with England, France and Spain in terms of economic, political and cultural influence. Even if he was not dominant in European affairs, Portugal did have an extensive colonial trading empire throughout the world backed by a powerful thalassocracy..
And so much more... but you'll fall asleep ???
