Grenfell Tower

"A total of 58 people are dead or missing, presumed dead following the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower, police have said". Grenfell Tower is a tower block which is believed to have housed around 600 people it is located in west London, the fire took place on the 14th June 2017
It disheartens me to view pictures of the building, it's a devastating sight to see and too heart-rending to bear. After watching a documentary on BBC about grenfell and to read about the 71 people that lost their lives after the tower block fire in west london. A lot of people we're told to stay in their flats as protocal in the outbreak of the fire. With only one flight of stairs available, and therefore limiting the escape route for many of the inhabitants. Many of the survivors were left homeless as a result of the fire, and little or no possessions. Others had lost friends and family members.

The fire supposedly started on the ground floor, and the firedoors that were implemented where supposed to protect the residents inside. As advised in a time of a fire, the residents in the Grenfell tower were told to remain in their apartments.
The fire is what's described as a freak accident, because the buildings exterior was made from a cheap, metal alloy that spontaneously combusted which caused the buildings exterior to ignite and then subsequently go up in flames.
Unusually the building was laced with a raw material, the cladding was made from a very inexpensive material which made the buildings fire very difficult to put out. Many people have proposed that the tower block was poorly built and those inside were vulnerable. Because of their social status -- it was felt that they were deemed to be marginalised and therefore not entitled to property which would be unaffordable because they are not of affluence.
The materials used where inexpensive and not fit materials to make that building somewhat fireproof. The saddest thing of all is that people lost their lives being of the conservationist climate we live in today. By contrast a similar building ignited in dubai, they were precautionary and the exterior of their building was laced with appropriate material to withstand fire, and give the residents inside time to get out.
Constructionist experts and scientists tested the material of the building of the Tower Block and set fire to it; it ignited in 2 minutes. The actual tower block grenfell went up in flames in about approximately 20 minutes. Because of the ferocous fire and the intoxicating, thick smoke this left little or no chance of survival and rendered the residence of that tower vulnerable.
