The martyr is represented by a small, two-wire physical object and knotted in white and red, which means the fight against health and disease through death.
The martyr is considered a talisman of luck, well-being and esteem. Usually men offer ladies and ladies in their martial life, in a sign of admiration and respect

The purpose of tying or putting the martyrs is to be lucky throughout the year, to be healthy and clean as silver with the coming of spring, writes in tradition-superstition

At the same time, the martyr is considered a symbol of spring, the return to the life of nature and everything around it.
The martyr is exposed for about two weeks or all of March, because he brings optimism and faith.
It is not known exactly when he appeared
martyr tradition, but is estimated to be hundreds of years old. Being such a beautiful custom, it was borrowed from our Bulgarian and Moldovan neighbors.
Symbolically, the thread of the martyr is the thread of the year, all days of the year.
