The winner of a £4m National Lottery scratchcard discovered his incredible good fortune while on his lunch break - but then went right back to work.

Amadou Gillen of Towbridge, Wiltshire, has walked away with the biggest prize that can be won on a National Lottery Scratchcard, which he bought on a break during a work shift at Wetherspoons.


The dad-of-one said he did not want to stop working and revealed he was afraid to believe he had won the mammoth prize until the money was sitting in his account.

Amadou also told how he now plans to buy a car but revealed it would not be a Ferrari or Lamborghini - but a Peugot

Speaking today for the first time about his win, delighted Amadou, 46, said: "When I saw the number '4' on the card I knew they didn't pay out £40, so I knew it had to be £4million.

"I scratched off the rest and oh my, I was so excited.

"But I put the card back in my pocket, and went back to finish the rest of my shift.

"It was certainly a long shift that day.
