Scarisoara cave, another spectacular place of Romania, declared a historical monument from 1938.

.
((We have shared with you 20 wonderful pictures of the cave and the wonderful scenery houses in the Apuseni Mountains. hope to delight your eyes.))
The cave is part of the Gheţar-Ocoale-Dobreşti karst system, the name of the glacier coming from hiding in it the largest underground glacier in Romania, being the first cave in our country declared a monument of nature since 1938 ...

Impressive is the entrance to the cave, through a huge mouth (a pit of about 60 meters in diameter, called aven), 48 meters deep, which was decorated with 270 metallic steps, some steep. Originally, they were made of wood, and they were also thrown by them or under the metallic skeleton, making it now a common body with the surrounding nature.
The first entrance is in the Great Hall, which is actually the first underground room, accessed via a portal of 24 meters wide and 17 meters high.
We initially thought it was a longer cave, but we can only visit 260 meters, the rest up to 720 being the cave speleology.
The ice from the surface of the Great Hall is over 4000 years !! There are several formations in the cave at the entrance, distinguishing a very large block of ice. Behind it there is a mouth that descends 60 meters vertically and continues with a half-kilometer area for speleologists, as the guide told us.
to the right of the entrance there is an area called the Church, at the base of a steep slope of ice, to which we no longer have access, although in the past it was allowed, distinguishing the altar with the priest in the center. The height of the ensemble (the highest point) is 17 meters, up to a total of 60 meters. To the right is a form called Elephant and a frozen waterfall.
In the summer, the villagers kept the meat cold, at a time when there was no electricity and no refrigerators. Winter in the cave are minus seven degrees, and in the summer minus one degree.

The cave is never the same due to the nature of the ice, constantly changing, so it is worth visiting it even more times!
There are bats in the cave, and in the Great Reserve a wild goat skeleton was discovered, a sign that they were hiding here ...

For those who do not know, there are four ice caves in the country, one of them being Scarişoara. In total, there are 4,000 caves in the Apuseni, 166 only around Scarisoara. Also from the guide, I learned that the Hodobana Cave is the longest, 18 kilometers long and is the world's largest cave, a real labyrinth. The guide (not) jokingly says that if you do not go with the paint in your hand, do not go out!

After visiting the cave, if you did not do it before, you must stop admiring the beauty of the Apusians, talking to people, listening to their stories, buying all kinds of wooden objects sculpted by them, and looking at their homes and the groomed courts where you too would like to remain forever ...
