Virender Sehwag (Viru) (born 20 October 1978) is a former Indian cricketer and a former captain who played all forms of the game for fourteen years . He regarded as a explosive and destructive batsman in world cricket and a part time right arm off- spin bowler. He played his first ODI match in 1999 and joined the test team in 2001.. In April 2009 he become the only Indian to be honoured as a wisdom leading cricketer.
Sehwag holds multiple records including the highest scored made by an Indian player in Test cricket (319 against South Africa at MCA Chidambaram stadium, which was also the fastest triple century in the histroy of test Cricket (300 off only 278 balls). He is the only Indian to hits triple century twice in test cricket.
He was appointed as vice captain captain of team India under Rahul Dravid captaincy in October 2005. In 2007 he was dropped from team India and later on from the test team as well.
He retired from all forms of international cricket in 20 October, 2015. On 31st October, 2017, Delhi District Cricket Association honoured Sehwag by naming Gate No. 2 at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium after him
