I know that the silver screen has been swamped in caped crusaders for the last few years. For a lot of people this is annoying, boring and repetetive....especially when you see them from the outside and have never commited time as a child into losing yourself into these implausable stories of Gods and Hero's. As i did.
Me...i was raised on a diet of spandex and metal claws, the next few years are very appealing for someone like me.
Yes i know its fake and i know its far fetched and for all the sense in the world i should be 'more grown up than this'.....but im not......far from it actually.
The one thing that is driving the giant wheel of these movies is the new found campaign for equallity and fairness, fighting against the historical pre-conceptions of sexism and racism. These days a woman on screen can be stronger than a man....much stronger. Although a small change to some, it is a paradigm shift to others. Likewise for rascism.
I know these movies wont change the world and at the end of the day they are just colourful fantasy. But the inherant message in many of them may very well change some peoples stoic notions....without them realising it.
So if you hate these movies...hate away. But remember that not many other genres can put these though changing ideas into childrens minds.
Maybe im talking nonsense, but it sort of makes sense.

ze2000 › Distopian future is when everything went wrong. So yes v vendetta would be there, blade runner not sure. Matrix is plain sci-fi.
