Book Review - Eleanor & Park
.
Title: Eleanor & Park
Written by: Rainbow Rowell
Publisher: Orion Book Publishers
The title suggests that the book is about two people, a boy and a girl. The genre of the book is a romance. It's written in the first person by two people, one by Eleanor and the other by Park.
The main characters are credible it's so easy to slip into their story and not realise it's not even real, I felt myself being pulled in from the very first sentence. The two characters both attend school, one really quiet and geeky the other stands out and gets bullied, they're thrown together when Park decides to help Eleanor out one day.
They run into a lot of problems in this book as Eleanor is abused by her stepdad and is bullied a lot at school.
I could relate a lot to the Eleanor character as I was bullied a lot during school and my Stepdad wasn't the nicest to me.
My favourite character has to be Eleanor, just because she's so different to other characters I've read about.
My favourite part was when Park finally admits his feelings for her despite what everyone else says.
I personally LOVED the book and would reread it over again. My least favourite part was the ending, because of how to book it ends it leaves you begging for more, wanting answers for what's happened but we can never get them.
I would reccomend this book to anybody who loves a good romance novel.
