Celebrating the Death
Among all the countries, they tend to celebrate ‘All Saints’ Day’ every 1st day of November. The people usually visit and offer prayers to their loved ones who had departed. In some countries, it is so distinctive that some countries do celebrate the death of their loved ones with different names, dates and traditional practices.
In Mexico, they call this celebration ‘The Day of the Dead’ and celebrated every 1st of November. It was also declared a public holiday. It is a typical practice that the families, relatives, and friends gathered together to offer prayers and remember the people who had been dead in the past. The distinct practice is to offer dead ones with flowers and skull-shaped sugary candies. In addition, they prepare the food and drinks used to like the dead ones and lay on their tombs.
There are so many practices and cultures that need to be discovered. In China, they call this celebration the ‘Qingming or Ching Ming Festival’ or ‘Tomb Sweeping Day’ and the local Chinese people celebrated this every 5th of April.
As the tourists and foreign to certain countries, we need to be open and try to respect others’ culture and its practices. It is what they were raised by their families and the practices were passed on from one generation to another. It cannot be re-educated the local people. It should be persevered to make them distinct from the rest of the other countries around the globe.
