Is it just me?
.
Yes, this is me in both pictures, they have relevance to the article!
I have a lot of social media accounts because it's how I like to stay active when I can't actually leave my house. On one of these accounts, I have a lot of followers. I was making a video with a guy friend of mine when a commenter asked why I liked to wear guys clothes. He then proceeded to tell me what I was doing was wrong and I shouldn't wear guys clothes as it's ''unacceptable''.
I just wanted to know if it was just me that got this sort of ''beef'' for wearing boys clothes. I proceeded to ask why it was ''unacceptable'' for me to be wearing guys clothes and he continued to tell me it was just not right for me to do so. Okay so here is a little rant.
1)
I wear guys clothes because they're more comfortable than women's clothes. I can wear a man's shirt and not have to worry about wearing a bra or wonder if my bra is going to be seen through the shirt because God forbid that ever happening -.-
2)
Guys clothes are a hell of a lot cheaper than woman's clothes are. Now I'm not just talking geeky clothes I mean everyday clothes. I can buy a flannel (plaid) shirt in the men's section for five pounds but if I go to do that in the woman section, for the same colour and type of shirt I have to pay an extra £10 because it buttons up a different way. Why would I do that when I can just get the same shirt in the men's section for cheaper.
3)
You have a wider variety of clothes to choose from. You have millions of geek shirts with different designs, sayings, and logos on and they're still cheap whereas if I go to the woman's section for something like that I get given a SuperWoman shirt in pink with a basic logo. Or I get band shirts that are triple the price of what the men's shirts are.
So you tell me why I prefer to wear men's clothes. This isn't a feminism rant because personally, I'm not a feminist I'm just someone who gets on with life. I honestly can't see the problem with me wearing ''boys'' or ''girls'' clothes because it's 2017 and I was wearing guy girls back when I was like 6. I used to run around in the mud with my older guy cousins in their clothes because why not? Look at the two photos above and tell me I shouldn't be wearing them. I think it looks fine either way but maybe thats just me xD
