SP12 EC, Eric Clapton's bespoke Ferrari

.
Not many people have a Ferrari with their own initials in the name. Famous guitarist Eric Clapton is one of those people, he owns one of the few Ferrari Special Projects cars.

The SP12 EC was designed in the Centro Stile Ferrari in collaboration with Pininfarina and the help of the Ferrari engineers to ensure a brilliant performance: after all, it's a Ferrari.

Clapton's favourite model was the 512BB. He owned 3 already, so he wanted a car resembling those. The original 512 mounted a boxer engine (Berlinetta Boxer). The car is based on the Ferrari 458 and Ferrari couldn't squeeze the 6.0-liter V12 into the engine bay and unfortunately the boxer engine is not something that Ferrari produces anymore so the SP12 is powered by the 4.5-litre 570bhp V8 found in the 458 Italia. An amazing piece of engineering all together.

The result is astonishing, see more pictures below!
