Meet PETMAN, the real-life terminator
PETMAN is not new, it was presented in October 2009 and footage of the robot was released in October 2011 but it wasn't until 2012 that it started being jused for it's purpose.
The system consists of a control room, ingress / egress support, exposure chamber and an integrated IPE mannequin. The robot tests the suits in a chemically exposed chamber and control room.
The humanoid robot weighs around 80kg and is 1.75m tall. It can walk at 4.4mph or 7.08km/h, the fastest humanoid robot in the world (or was in 2012)
The legs are moved by hydraulic actuators and shock absorbers. An onboard computer, several sensors and other internal monitoring systems make motion a reality.
Surely we are not too far from the real Terminator.
