Tears

When was the last time you cried? When was the last time you cried so hard it's difficult to stop it?

Last week I had a terrible dream. I dreamt about my dead parents and I cried in my sleep. I woke up with tears in my eyes and recalling my dream made me tear up even more. I allowed myself to cry, I was sobbing. The emotion was there. The pain of losing them is still there. After 27 years, remembering what happened to them still hurts.

I was just 13. I just turned 13 when both my parents were taken away from me. I was young to understand how it really was to lose my parents. At that time I thought they just went away on vacation and they'd eventually come back.

As years go by, I was missing their presence. I grew up with no parental guidance, but my mom's advice, words of wisdom and her discipline lingered on in my head. I didn't want to disappoint them. I lived a life trying to please my dead parents.

I know thy are proud of me and what I have become. I may not have been a perfect doctor but I tried to live the way they wanted me too.

I miss them.
