About the generation that no longer wants relationships!

We want a cup of coffee on Saturday nights, we want another pair of shoes for our pictures.

We want an official facebook relationship so that everyone can appreciate it and comment, we want posts that win the definition of #realtionshipgoals. We want a snack Sunday morning, we want someone to write us "Good Morning" on a Wednesday. But we are the generation that does not want a relationship.

We look for the right person to the left and right. We read "5 ways to find out if he is in love with you" or "7 ways to make him fall in love with you" hoping to be able to convince someone to accept a relationship with us. We spend more time investing in facebook profiles than in our personality. We do not want a relationship.

"We're talking," and we're sending out messages, going out to town, going for a coffee or a beer, just to avoid a real meeting. We send messages to hold a meeting, in front of just a little to return home and continue chatting through messages.

We give up all the chances of making a real connection, playing games without a possible winner. We are in a "Most Adventurous," "Most Careless attitude," and "Best at Being Emotional Discipline," and end up winning the title "Suitable to Be Lonely".

We want the facade of a relationship, but we do not want to work on one. We want to hold our hand without looking into our eyes, teasing us without much talk. We want promises without real commitment, we want birthdays without the 365 days leading up to them.

We want eternal happiness, but we do not want to make the effort here and now. We want a deep bond, while keeping things superficial.

We dream of someone who holds our hand, but we do not want to put the power of doing our sake into their hands. We want to be swept off our feet, and at the same time be safe to keep us on our own. We want to keep the idea of love, but we do not want to really fall in love.

We do not want relationships - but friends with benefits. We dream of everything that would give us the illusion of a relationship without having a real one. We want all the rewards without taking any risk; to connect, but not too much.

We take it slowly: we see where it's going, we do not put a label on things, just go out to meet. We keep one leg in the threshold, an open eye, and keep people at the distance of our hand - playing with our emotions, most of all playing with ours.

When things start to be too serious, we run. We hide. Leave. There is a lot of fish in the sea. There is always another chance to find our love. There's so little chance of keeping it ...

We hope to slip towards happiness. We want to download the right pair as a new application - which can be updated when a defect occurs - as a file that we could delete when we did not need it anymore. We do not want to unpack our luggage or, worse, help others to unpack theirs.

We want to keep the ugly behind the cover photo, hide the imperfections with the instagram filters, choose a new episode instead of a real conversation. We like the idea of loving someone despite the flaws, which is the skeletons locked in the closet and we are happy to never let them see the light of the day.

We feel compelled to love, just as we feel compelled to find a job. Trophies have taught us that if we want something, we deserve it. Beautiful stories have taught us that true love, soul mate and "happy forever" exist for everyone. That's why we do not make any effort and we ask ourselves: "Why did not our prince still appear?" Where is our consolation award? Where is the relationship we deserve? The love that has been promised to us?

Actually....
We want a replacement, not a person. We want a warm body, not a partner. We want someone to sit next to us while we open an app to distract our attention from our lives. We want to go on this middle line: to pretend that we do not have emotions while we hold our hearts in our hands, we want someone to need us without us having someone. We're discussing the rules, but nobody knows the game we're trying to play. The biggest problem is that at the end of the day we do.
