Things to Consider When Owning a Bichon Frise
1. Time! Are you living alone? Do you stay out most of the time? Or are you retired? How much time will you be able to spend with your pet? Bichon Frises are highly attached and they don't want to be left alone for long periods of time. They need to be with somebody and they need to feel your presence. They can develop serious separation anxiety which could lead to depression which later on could lead to death.
2. Your TV will no longer be your own! Yes, they love watching tv and they have their own personal preference in shows! So if you're not willing to give up your tv remote control to your Bichon Frise, choose another breed.
3. Your Couch will no longer be yours too! Yes, they love staying in your couch and you must be willing to share.
4. Grooming! Bichon fries don't demand too much time in grooming. In fact, you can only brush their hair twice a week, but you must bring them to the groomer's at least once a month for their cut if you can't do it yourself.
5. Kisses! They are highly affectionate dogs and they would demand hugs and kisses from you. If you don't like that, then this breed is definitely not for you.
6. Be ready to share your pillow. Yes, they will take over your stuff including your own pillow!
7. Bedmate. Get ready to have a bed mate and a bed mate that will snuggle closely to you!
