The myth about minimalism

.
We all have our favorite interior design style according to which we plan and arrange our home. Now, the minimalism has started to gain popularity. I have to say that I am not a big fan of this interior style, I think there is some kind of myth.

Some say that stuff and its abundance cause the stress. Yes, working in the interior design field, I can say that the most often named problem of a home is too much stuff. Unfortunately, after you throw out a part of them, not always you will feel comfortable and will be easier to breathe.

We force ourselves to have as little things as possible things at home, but many of them are associated with precious memories, our hopes, and dreams. If you throw out the grandmother's heritage - a beautiful porcelain dinner set standing on the sideboard for a long time, may you never feel good?

Emotionally important things that matter to us, even if they are impractical, give us happiness. So it's worth thinking about the distribution of priorities and storage solutions, rather than throwing out all stuff one after the other.

Let's start thinking about healthier attitudes and behaviors, and not about throwing out everything. Sometimes we can try to live with less in order to grasp what we want and then take another step when we feel ready to reject one or another item. But it can take time, may year or two, and in the case of a grandmother's dinner set - may never.

soncee I agree with you that there are many things that we need to throw away, but we still keep them at least those that are especially dear to us in some of us memories

indexer It always amazes me that some people's houses do not contain a single book - which is a minimalist characteristic - but I couldn't possibly put up with that!

fortune @soncee Yes, I agree, we should separate what is simply trash and what is precious as memories.

fortune @sabtraversa I have a lot of stuff that I should throw out. The best works to me rebuilding of home or moving to new home. Then I throw out a lot of things, unfortunately, it happens not so often.

fortune Yes, such homes looks like uninhabitable. They have not its spirit. Every home should have its unique spirit, coziness, and warmth. If to talk about books, I have a lot of books and still can't throw out any of them. So, they are everywhere in my home. Sometimes I think I need a library for them. LOL
