The Dangers of Agency Work

.
I would like to raise the spectre of working for an agency in the UK. This work can be ad hoc in other words they only want you when they want you.

This is ok if you are living at home with someone and you are not the main bill payer or you have some other financial arrangement where you are not the main breadwinner.

But if you are working for an agency and you want them to be a reliable wage earner think again. Many times they let you know when work is available and there are times when you receive no notification of any work available at all. Which if you are paying bills it is not good and of course, not all agency work is like this. Some trades registered with agencies can get work flowing no problem.

Agency work can be like casual work or zero hours work which in the UK has become the bane of employment. Yes you have a job but the hours are not guaranteed as some weeks you will be working a full week whiles others next to nothing.

Many people in the UK are faced with this situation unfortunately and benefits in the UK to help top up your fleeting wages are not always available.

To access benefits if you are working is not easy because the government has set strict criteria on how many hours you do etc.

Such is the case unfortunately in the UK today.
