Santa Maria - The Golden Island

The island has its unique microclimate, varying from tropical, to moderate and windy at the coastline. Prepare for breathtaking views and picturesque landscape, which is still not empoverished by the massive tourism presence and is ideal for a day-long hiking.

"Sunset is about my favorite time of day, when all the deep colors come out. The night birds start waking up and the day creatures bed down for the night. This is the only time of day when dusk comes that my light sensitive eyes feel no pain, the stress of the days are forgotten and peace finds me giving me a temporary sanctuary. I wrote this in my Creative Writing class when it was an assignment. So here it is where you can find the same peace of mind it gives me."
