MIGRATIONS IN SMALL ISLANDS

.
The arrival of "pateras" and "cayucos" to the Canary Islands is a common drama which affects to locals, immigrants and tourists.

There are three points of view: Locals, immigrants and tourists.

- Locals see migrations as a huge problem because they say that the massive coming of immigrants will bring them difficulties as unemployment.

- Immigrants, however, say that migration is their only opportunity to escape from war and poverty. They risk their lives to achieve a perfect life.

- Tourists are in a completely different perspective, they just don't care about migration even though it can affect them on their holidays.
