The tree is the work of God
.
One of the school parties that I enjoyed the most in my childhood, and then as a rural school teacher, was National Tree Day or simply Tree Day, an event that took place on the last Sunday in May and still continues today.
First, this beautiful and meaningful celebration took place on May 29, which is the day of Araguaney. Then it became a mandatory event in all schools in the country on May 23, according to the presidential decree of April 10, 1905. Subsequently moved the date to May 15. But by means of a resolution of the Ministry of Education issued on May 19, 1951, it is stipulated that Tree Week should be celebrated and taken as the Tree Day on the last Sunday of May.
Although my interest is to briefly and succinctly highlight the Day of the Tree as a celebration of the conservationist and ecological nature in Venezuela, it is good to indicate that this celebration takes place throughout the world on different dates according to the country, in order to make a reminder of the importance of protecting wooded areas and forests. For the first time that the festival of the tree in the world was celebrated, according to Wikipedia, it was in the year 1805 in the small extreme population of Villanueva de la Sierra (Cáseres).
The tree is one of the most extraordinary organisms of nature created by God. According to Genesis 1: 11-12, it was the third day of his creative work that trees appeared on Earth. The Bible narrates that God, after shaping the dry part of the planet ("earth") and the waters he called "sea", said: "I want there to be fruit, trees and plants on the earth." and seed. "And instantly it was made like this! The earth produced trees and plants, the trees bore fruit and the plants gave seed, God was surprised at what he was doing and admired the beauty that was there in all that.
The trees, apart from the numerous benefits that they bring, by all known, being the main among them its characteristic of helping to produce oxygen and fix carbon, a contribution of the Creation to face the growing environmental problems, including the greenhouse effect; they are shown in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors which constitute a visual spectacle of the highest aesthetic level.
The Chorus of the Hymn to the Tree of Venezuela is a beautiful poem that highlights the qualities of this work of God and says: "To the tree we must solicitous love
never forget that it is God's work"
Note: The tree that I present in the photograph is a "Framboyán" located on the banks of the extinct Nivaldo River that crosses the city of Río Caribe, where I live. Currently they have few leaves and do not have flowers, waiting for the rains that have been delayed.
