How To Make Your Clothes Last Longer

.
Clothes don't last because they are not merely over worn, they are over washed. What you have to do is avoid washing your clothes until they really need it.

You do this by having your 'yard' clothes as opposed to your 'go out' clothes divided.

You get dressed for work and as you get in, you take off your outfit. If it is a bit soiled, sponge it. If it isn't, put it back in the closet.

Sponging means using a clean sponge which is a little damp to quickly wipe down your clothes. Sometimes you do it outside out, and sometimes inside out. You have the clothes dry on a hanger outside of the closet.

When you aren't going anywhere, you wear your yard clothes. These are old things you don't wash too often because they are near falling apart.

When you wash, you can hang up any white things outside out in the sun. Dark colours should be hung up inside out in the shade.

Don't wash too roughly. Too many people use a brush or rub really hard, not just on stains. This destroys your clothes.

tallawah @PirateBarbosa what you do with undies, wear them once, then, as you come in, take them off, soak them in water with a bit of gentle detergent then use the least amount of scrubbing, rinse, and hang up.

Fesalvia Great tips, although those who live in a tropical country, can not wear the same clothes several times, the heat does not contribute, we end up perspiring enough!

tallawah @Fesalvia I live in Jamaica which is supposed to be tropical. Usually I use corn starch as a powder and under my arms, which does protect my clothes.

PirateBarbosa ohhh...me misunderstand. Ya meant hang em’ up to dry. Me thought ya meant to hang em’ back on me. That makes sense!! ☠️?

tallawah @Fesalvia I always used corn starch as powder and my parents used it on me. Corn starch is edible so if a baby puts it in his/her mouth it is not dangerous. Same thing with using coconut or olive oil on the skin instead of baby oil.
