Zack Clements, from Brownwood, Texas, collapsed in gym class while he was running and was immediately rushed to hospital.

Doctors worked to revive him from his cardiac arrest, which lasted for an astonishing 20 minutes, and just as they were about to give up and pronounce him dead, Mr Clements’ pulse suddenly returned.

The then 17-year old woke up in intensive care days later, and told his story of how he apparently met Jesus on the other side.

Mr Clements told CBS Dallas-Fort Worth: “When I was out those 20 minutes, I saw a man who had long ruffled hair and kind of a thick beard, and it didn't take me long to realise that was Jesus.
“I went up to him and he put his hand on my shoulder and he told me everything would be alright and not to worry.”
Zack’s father, Billy, said that although the story does sound extravagant, he and his wife Teresa witnessed a miracle in itself when he survived 20 minutes without a pulse so they do believe their son.

The dad told CBS: “For him to wake up and tell us something he experienced like that. It's just you can't explain it.

“It's not humanly possible to explain it.”
She said: “I'm just glad he decided to let me have my baby back.”

This follows on from a recently released study which claims that you will know when you are dead.

The report found the dead person’s mind and consciousness continue to work, at least for a short time – meaning the deceased can recognise their own death.
Indeed, there is some evidence to suggest the person may even hear their own death being announced as they lie on the operating theatre table.

Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, said people in the first phase of death may still experience some form of consciousness despite the brain losing basic functions.

He said: “Once that happens, blood no longer circulates to the brain, which means brain function halts almost instantaneously.

Hartmut Well, more research on this subject is needed. My guess is that persons in that state will see their God (or Savior) from the religion they belong to and believe in.
