Should Kids Go to Jail?

This issue is too controversial in our country today, especially in lowering the age of the juvenile to 9 years old. The House of Representative has already approved the bill in third reading, criminalizing the 9 year old. Before the juvenile law has set the age to 15 years old.
Due to the rampant of crimes committed by the kids ranging from 9 years old to 15 years old, the President of the country himself has wanted to jail those kids who are 9 years of age and have been used or involved in doing criminal acts.
Many people or the Filipino reacted negatively. They had manifested their disgust for the approval of the House of Representative of the said bill, jailing the 9-year old kids without hassle. They express that those kids should be under the care of their parents. In case, those kids are involved in crime. They should be put in the rehab but in the prison cell together with the hardened criminals.
Now it's the turn of the House of Senate to pass a similar bill to that effect. There are already some senators who oppose to the bill.
However, as to the latest update of the said law, the President suggested to increase it to 12 years old when found guilty be incarcerated.
I don't know with the other countries as to the age limit for the juvenile to be imprisoned in case they are involved in the commission of crimes and found guilty.
By the way, in your country, what is the age limit for the kids to be charged criminally and be put to prison when found guilty?

Explorer2017 › @marija64 Ours is being lowered to 9 years old but due to the clamor of the people, it is increased to 12 years old. Before it was 15 years old.

senior1819 › In some countries, there is prison for kids. In USA, definitely.
artbytes › In our neighborhood, there are minors even younger than 9 years old who breaks into houses and steals. Sometimes they steal from malls and shops. Some minors steal because they were told to do so, or they copy the actions of those who are around them (parents, neighbors, etc...).
There should be a correctional facility that will help them change their habit. Not the regular jail. I supposed the parents should be jailed for their negligence.

Explorer2017 › @artbytes I am not sure of. I forget. What I only know that there was a curfew for the minors but criminalizing them I am not sure.
