Philippine Christmas Tradition
.
About 80% of the the people in the Philippines are Roman Catholic and during Christmas season they have a tradition called "Simbang Gabi" or Night Mass in English. It is a series of 9-day Roman Catholic mass which are held from December 16-24 between 3am and 5am. I learned that this mass is similar to Puerto Rico's Misa de Aguinaldo.
On the last day of the series which is on the Christmas Eve, the service is called Misa de Gallo which is Spanish for Rooster's Mass.
A lot of people flock into the church to complete the 9 day series in the belief that if they do, their wishes would come true. Some young ones would attend the mass though to be with their boyfriends or girlfriends and this masses will turn out into a romantic date for couples.
Since I don't have our own holiday tradition, I opted to share this Philippine tradition instead for the #decemberchallenge2018 by @cathydkreations
