Dalai Lama and the Nobel Peace Prize
.
On this date in 1989, spiritual and political leader of Tibet, The Dalai Lama won the Nobel Prize for peace. I'm glad the Committee had recognized the dedication for his Himalayan nation, which is not that easy to do; especially today, when you're in a 60-year old exile.
By his real name, Teenzin Gyatso is the current and the 14th Dalai Lama in row, since 1950.
I am amazed of his never ending ecumenism (gathering Buddhists and other religious communities) which is reflected in his speech and manners. And, it's really rare to find a spiritual leader who smiles when a situation isn't that cheering.
In high school, I read his Little Wisdom Book where I was impressed by this quote:
"Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible".
And, about laugh: "I'm a professional laughter".
Laugh, guys! :)
