Durian: The Worst and The Best, All in One -

Durian is one of the exotic fruits in our country. Once you see it, you will be awed by its spiky appearance but you will be disgusted or fainted once you smell its odor. It exudes a very bad odor.

However, once its shell is opened into half, you will see a meaty flesh inside. And once you taste it, you will try another one, another one, and another one for it is too delicious.

Durian has 30 varieties or species according to study but 9 of them are edible. It is considered as the "King of Fruits". It is a seasonal fruit. It is usually seen in the months of June, July and August.

Durian fruit has various health benefits to offer like energy, minerals, and vitamins. It is a good source of vitamin C, B complex like B5, B6, and B1. It is a good sleep inducer because of tryptophan in it which is known as "nautre's sleeping pill".

Durian's seeds can also be eaten by boiling or roasting them. The unripe durian may be cooked as a vegetable.
