Helping Hands

.
You may be asked who is your neighbor. You're apt to reply to name the person who lives near you. Whether he is good or bad, friendly or hostile or whatever.

You're right. It's always our instinct to reply that way, to resson it out in that manner. But spiritually speaking, he may not be in your immediate access. He may be within your home, in your community, in your country or wherever.

Your neighbor is the one who needs help. He's in distress, in trouble, in danger hopelessly. He may be your friend, a stranger or enemy who seems unacceptable. But it should be as what the parable of a good Samaritan. Have known this. It's what the Gospel of Luke talks about, particularly in Luke 10: 25-37.

I have pointed this out to remind us where do we fail in helping. There are many ways of extending a helping hands to them. One I remember is what Amdy Rooney once said and I quote. "That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the  strength to help him in some other way." So be it.

When shall you do your part, my friend?
