"Raul's cat"

.
Friends tuetegueros I will tell you the real story of the protagonist of the "Narrative exercise on a cat and a mouse" that I shared yesterday, June 7, with you, inspired by some photographs I made of him.

My house has always been surrounded by many cats, have passed several generations of different pints that have wandered through their yards and gardens: black cats, white, white with black spots, black with white spots, yellow cats, brown, brindle, gray, gray with spots, many cats of many colors.

When my granddaughter Mia Pamela was born four years ago, there were approximately ten cats in the nearby bushes and in the front yard of my house. And the first three words he learned in my arms were the female cat "gata", "agua" (water) and "Astra" (the name of my female dog). For the three, at the beginning, he used almost the same sound, saying "ata".

The point is that I never adopted any of those cats, I did not care about any of them. I gave them food, I gave them water to drink, but I never took any cat for me.

A few years ago, one of my grandchildren grabbed one of those newborn cats and took it to the house. I forbade it because, when they grow up, they neglect it and do not pay attention to it. But the boy disobeyed me and eventually I became attached to the cat because he was different from the others, or I thought it was different. He was a very elegant and tender cat with me.

Everyone at home called it "Raul's cat", that was the name of the only cat he had ever had. He had had dogs, but not cats, until he came home that beautiful white cat with gray, black and sepia spots, which I had grown fond of and which we gave the name of "Raul's cat".

One morning I woke up at dawn to travel to Cumana, the capital of the state where I live, to carry out some labor diligence, and with great regret I found him dead under some plants in the garden. It seems that he was poisoned in one of the neighboring houses that he frequented and came to our house to die.

By way of colophon:

The "cat of Raul" was a mouse hunter. I took those pictures of him once he caught a mouse, or a rat, I do not know, that he killed and decapitated after playing with him for a while. I did not let him eat because he suspected that he was poisoned and that he could hurt him.
