Meta tag

Only hundred and fifty five characters allowed in a meta tag on a web site what would or could anyone write if their website was selling products on two to four pages full with products listed. I had to do that just wrote upto 155 character length words it's as easy as it could get only using keywords rather than long descriptive detailed. The most important thing Google crawls on website to rank a website better and be found on it's search engine so a must meta tag and contents. The richer the content the better the page rank. How do you fit a content in hundred and fifty five characters it's impossible so better to have a meta tag crunchable for Google to drive traffic to a website.
