Let me introduce to you the Roman Empire. The father of most of the modern nations. The Roman Empire is the most influential country and culture in the whole history.
Most of our words, names, laws, metrical systems, medicine, architecture and thousands of more things come from the Romans. The Romans were originally from Rome, and quick expanded all around the Mediterranean.
On that time, you could travel from England to Germany, then to Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Africa and you would still be on the same country. They colonised everywhere in the Mediterranean.
Despite all of this colonisation the only heritage that they left us was culturally, social and architectonic. The only Roman coloniser descendants or Latin ethnically left in the world are the Italians, Portuguese and Spanish.
For all this reasons, we could class the Roman empire as the best country ever, for it's huge influence all around the world 1500 years after it's last eagle fell.
